This is the concept behind starke, the wonderful electro-acoustic duo of Shunichiro Fujimoto and Yushi Mori.

For that reason, starke’s beautiful music was conceived to capture those tiny little moments in life that you feel blissful and harmonious, from the bright morning light that gently passes through the windowpane, to the calm dreams and tranquilities of your longest nights.

Both based in Tokyo, Shunichiro Fujimoto and Yushi Mori have individually played in numerous bands, before they come together to form starke.

Shunichiro Fujimoto, who is best known for his stunning acoustic ambient music under the magnificent moniker "FJORDNE", is also an indispensable member of the electronic vocal band "fhenomina" where he takes charge of the programming and plays the guitars.

As for Yushi Mori, the prolific and influential drummer whose rhythmic signature and feathery touches can be heard in many bands, including the melodious "ミーティア気象台” (Meteor Kishodai), in which he also composes the music, the brilliant indie band "Å", and also in the house music crossover project "Under Groove".

starke’s breathtaking debut album “a letter from yesterday” will be released by mü-nest in summer 2009.
